Medical Care for Alonzo

After two months on the run, Alonzo finally found his way to safety! A little piglet has been surviving on his own in Hyde Park. Six-month-old Alonzo was likely abandoned and left to fend for himself. We believe he may have originally been running with a sibling, but sadly, we never found the other pig and fear they did not survive.

As we begin his next chapter, Alonzo will need veterinary care, including vaccines and neuter surgery. If you’d like to help support his care, donations can be here. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide the medical care and resources he needs to thrive.

med shed

As Rise of the Pig continues to grow, we are in need of upgraded facilities to properly support the animals in our care. We are raising $20,000 to build a dedicated feed and medical barn that will allow us to safely store feed, organize essential medical supplies, and provide a clean, protected space for treatments and recovery.

This barn is a critical step in improving daily care, responding to medical needs, and ensuring long-term health and safety for every pig who calls our sanctuary home. Your support will help us create a more sustainable and efficient environment for the animals who depend on us.

General Donation

At Rise of the Pig, every day is made up of a thousand small, essential moments—feeding, healing, cleaning, building, and caring for the animals who call the sanctuary home.

The Rise of the Pig General Fund supports all of the ongoing, foundational work that keeps the rescue running long term. This includes medical care for our pigs, staffing to ensure consistent daily care, and maintaining and improving their living environment so they can thrive in safety and comfort.

Rescue life doesn’t happen in big, single moments—it’s sustained through steady care, responsive support, and the ability to meet needs as they arise. This fund helps make that possible.

Monthly recurring sponsorships are especially meaningful, as they provide reliable, ongoing support that allows us to plan ahead and respond quickly when needs arise. This kind of steady giving helps ensure that every pig here continues to receive consistent, compassionate care.

Your support helps make long-term care possible—today, tomorrow, and every day after that.

Pig Shade Program

At Rise of the Pig, we think a good life for pigs comes with belly rubs, good snacks, and plenty of shade on a hot summer day. Since pigs don’t do well in the heat, we’re working on something pretty special—reforesting our paddocks to bring more trees, more shade, and more happy lounging spots for our residents.

You can help us grow this shady little paradise. For a donation of $350, you’ll sponsor a tree planted right here at the rescue—helping keep our pigs cool, comfy, and living their very best lives.

Each tree can be named after a person or beloved animal of your choice, and we’ll place a custom metal plaque so your tree has its very own identity in the herd. It’s a simple way to leave a lasting mark—one that grows, shades, and brings joy for years to come.

Snoot Shelter Program

Here at Rise of the Pig, comfort is kind of a big deal. Our pigs love a good nap, a cozy corner, and—most importantly—a place to stay dry when the weather has other plans.

That’s where our lean-tos come in. These sturdy, weatherproof shelters give our pigs shade in the summer, warmth in the winter, and a dry place to wait out the rain (preferably while judging us for being out in it). They’re not just nice to have—they’re essential to keeping our pigs healthy, safe, and stress-free year-round.

Each lean-to is built right here by our team so your donations go further. The cost to build one is $1,500—and you can sponsor an entire shelter, creating a lasting impact for the pigs who call it home.

Sponsored lean-tos can be named in honor of a person or beloved animal, with a custom plaque placed on the structure—a meaningful way to leave your mark while providing real, everyday comfort to our residents.

Help us raise the roof—literally—and give our pigs the safe, snug shelter they deserve.

Best Foot Forward Initiative

We pay a lot of attention to what’s underfoot—because for pigs, good footing has a huge impact on their mobility.

Our pigs spend their days exploring, rooting, napping, and being generally excellent at being pigs. But when the ground is muddy, uneven, or worn down, it can lead to discomfort, stress, and even injury for some of our disabled friends. That’s why we’re launching a footing project to improve the surfaces they walk and live on every day.

We use a combination of gravel and mulch to create safer, more stable, and more comfortable pathways and lounging areas throughout the sanctuary. It helps with drainage, reduces deep mud in wet seasons, and gives our pigs a much better place to do all the important pig things—like strolling confidently to snack time.

A truckload of gravel or mulch costs $600, and each load makes a real, visible difference across the property. Your support helps us keep bringing in the materials we need to keep the ground safer, drier, and more comfortable for our pigs year-round.

Because at the end of the day, happy pigs start from the ground up.

Pig Feed Fund

We take nutrition seriously—because every meal is part of keeping our pigs healthy and thriving.

Mealtime is a big deal around here (even if the pigs act like it’s the best part of the entire day). We feed our residents a small-batch, organic feed made with quality ingredients, thoughtfully chosen to support their overall health and wellbeing.

A single bag of feed costs $45, and we go through approximately 20 bags each month to keep everyone well-fed and happy. It’s a steady, essential part of sanctuary life, and it adds up quickly.

Your support helps us keep bowls full, bellies satisfied, and nutrition at the heart of everything we do—one bag at a time.
