6-Year-Old Potbelly Pig | Herd Leader | Resilient Soul
Urban came into our lives as a piglet, rescued alongside his beloved sister Delilah. From the very beginning, he’s shown a quiet strength and wisdom well beyond his years. Born with incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle (loose elbows), Urban developed severe arthritis by age three. After a complex surgery at Cornell University, he now lives with metal screws in both elbows to stabilize his joints, and will walk with a limp for life.
But make no mistake—Urban is the undisputed leader of the herd. His calm presence, gentle nature, and quiet confidence have earned him the respect of every pig in the enclosure. He is truly a gentle giant, leading not through dominance, but through kindness and steadiness.
We’ve spared no expense to ensure his comfort: medications, therapies, and an enclosure custom-built with specialized footing to support his mobility. Urban may be disabled, but he lives a life full of dignity, love, and purpose.
