Mugsy came to us from a tragic situation—a failed “petting zoo” where neglect was rampant and the conditions were heartbreaking. He was one of the lucky survivors. As a piglet, Mugsy endured unthinkable cruelty; he was kicked in the face by the owner, leaving him with a broken nose. By the time we rescued him, his physical wounds had started to heal, but the damage to his snout was permanent. Our vet determined that it was safest to leave his nose crooked, and today, his signature “crooked snoot” is part of what makes him so uniquely Mugsy.
Despite his rough start, Mugsy has blossomed into a deeply loved member of our family. He may act like a curmudgeon—grumbling and grousing through his daily routine—but underneath it all, he’s a total mama’s boy and a big softie. He loves his comfort, his routines, and most of all, his people.
Mugsy is a survivor, a sweetheart, and a daily reminder that with love and safety, even the most wounded spirits can heal.
