Clive is our biggest potbelly pig, weighing in at a solid 240 lbs — a true gentle giant. At around 13 years old, he’s still surprisingly light on his feet and full of quiet charm. Whether he’s trotting across the pasture or lounging in his beloved mudpit (his personal spa), Clive lives life at his own peaceful pace.
Clive came to us from a hoarding case in Connecticut, along with his long-time companion Derrick. Though the two had lived together for years, the stress of rescue and the fact that both are unneutered males led to some post-transport tensions. They're now enjoying side-by-side pastures and we’re working toward a safe and happy reunion.
Because of his size, Clive can be a little intimidating at first. Visitors often give him a wide berth — until they get to know him. Once people spend just a little time with Clive, his sweet, soulful eyes and calm, affectionate nature tend to win them over completely. More often than not, he ends up being the favorite pig by the time they leave.
While Clive’s hearing isn’t what it used to be (we sometimes have to wake him up for dinner if we’re running late), he’s still spry and full of personality. With a love for mud, naps, and quiet company, Clive is a beautiful reminder that the biggest hearts often come in the biggest bodies.
